I was widowed in 2005 and became a member of AWA at the Amport Weekend in 2006. I have a nineteen year old son and work as a Staff Nurse in the Plastic Surgery out-patients department of my local hospital in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

I am very honoured to be Chairman of the Army Widows’ Association and I am endeavouring to carry on the sterling work and achievements by my predecessors, Heather Saunders and Amanda Limb. The Association is moving from strength to strength and sadly, our membership will continue to increase. Please remember you are not alone and we will give you every support we possibly can, we have all been there and really do know how you are feeling.

I am fortunate to be part of a very hard-working Committee & our Trustees are extremely supportive. We are all volunteers, so please remember that, when you try to contact us, we will get back to you as soon as we possibly can.

With my very best wishes,

Christine Gemmell
Chairwoman
