The Elizabeth Cross and Memorial Scroll

The Elizabeth Cross will be granted to the next of kin of Armed Forces personnel killed on operations or as a result of terrorism since 1948. Families are invited to read the information on the MOD Medal Office website which includes information on the eligibility criteria and details of how to apply. Information and an application form can also be obtained by calling 0800 085 3600.

Events

The Association organises one regular event each year: a weekend break during the summer for members at Amport House this includes the AGM. Other outings are organised from time to time, information on these events is circulated via the Newsletter and email.

Police Unity Memorial Band - 12th September 2010

Concert in aid of the Army Widows Association. Garrison Church - Deepcut 7PM. All AWA members are welcome, Suelee Fullick is the contact if you wish to attend, or contact us through the contact us page.

Rhythm Force - 25th Septemer 2010

The very best rock, pop and folk bands from Army Music perform some of the greatest anthems. Musicians from the Bands of the Coldstream Guards, Royal Artillery, Rifles, Kings, Scots and Parachute Regiment are joined by the Army Big Band at this the fifth year of Rhythm Force.

Headlining the event will be the iconic British rock band Status Quo, who are appearing for charity in support of the British Forces Foundation and Help For Heroes charities.

Amport House Weekend - 9-11 JULY 2010

Our annual Amport House weekend will take place at Amport House, Amport, near Andover, Hampshire from Friday 9 July - Sunday 11 July 2010. Full details will be circulated to members in May 2010.

If you are eligible to join the AWA but are not yet a member and you would like details of the weekend please contact us via info@armywidows.org.uk requesting Amport House details.
