Widows/Widowers and their Dependants
As a special concession, ATOC have agreed that war widows/widowers and their dependent children may retain the use of HM Forces issued Railcards until the expiry of the card. War widow(er)s can obtain an 'HM Forces Railcard' through the Royal British Legion Pensions Department. This can be used as a family railcard but you can also travel alone. If you are applying for the first time then you must send a signed letter giving:
- Your full name
- Your spouse's service number
- Your War Widow(er)'s Pension number
- Your date of birth
- A passport photo signed on the reverse
- A cheque for £2.50 made payable to "Royal British Legion Rail cards"
Children can get discounted travel whilst travelling with you using your Railcard between the ages of 5 - 15 (up to 4 children on one card). After 15 they would be eligible for their own Railcard and for as long as they continue in full time education.
Cards can be renewed by sending a cheque for £2.50 together with the NON-photo section of the expiring card.
