Who is Eligible?
The Association is primarily for those who have been recently widowed* but anyone whose husband has died since 1981 whilst serving as a commissioned or non-commissioned soldier of the Regular Army, was a member of the Territorial Army or Reserve who was mobilised for a period of regular service at the time of their death.
*Widow is classed as the current spouse, cohabitee or civil partner as recognised by the MoD in terms of receiving a pension.
Membership
Membership is open to individuals over eighteen or organisations who are approved by the Trustees:
There are three classes of membership:
- Full Membership - open to all persons whose deceased spouse was a commissioned or non-commissioned soldier in the Regular Army, or Territorial Army/Reserve who was mobilised for a period of regular service at the time of death.
- Associate Membership - Offered to any person whose deceased spouse had served in the Regular Army, Territorial Army/Reserve and whose death occurred since leaving the service post 1981.
- Honorary Membership - Offered to such other persons as the Committee may from time to time determine as having contributed to the work of the Association or if indeed the Committee feels would benefit the Association.
